Dr Shanel Few (she/her/hers) is a Clinical Psychologist who provides mental health treatment, autism assessments and clinical supervision

​

In the area of mental health treatment, Dr Few sees adolescent and adult clients with general mental health presentations such as depression and anxiety but also has expertise in the treatment of Eating Disorders and associated issues. Shanel is Eating Disorder Credentialled. Her treatment approaches for Eating Disorders are Family Based Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa (FBT for AN), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Guided Self Help (CBT-GSH).

Dr Few also has a special interest in supporting people who have experienced trauma, using strategies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)​.

Dr Few's latest passion is learning more about neurodivergence and Autism Assessment is an exciting expansion to Dr Few's repertoire. Dr Few has been trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - Second Edition (ADOS-2) and incorporates this tool into her Autism Assessments

Dr Few loves supporting mental health professionals to achieve fulfilling, effective and sustainable careers. During clinical supervision, Shanel has a strong focus on self care and nurturing her supervisees with open and honest dialogue. Shanel is able to provide clinical supervision to provisional psychologists completing internships, University students such as those completing their Professional Masters, or Masters or Doctorates in Clinical Psychology, early career psychologists, those taking part in the Clinical Registrar program and mental health professionals at any career stage. Shanel has a particular interest in growing the local rural and regional mental health workforce.
